Looks like I have to add another notch to my little progress chart. I moved up a notch in this whole audition process. I had previously and erroneously thought that it only involved being selected to audition, auditioning, getting a callback and being booked for the jobby job. Uh, not exactly. I don’t know why I didn’t remember this, but there’s a little penultimate step after the callback called being short-listed or right of first refusal.
One of my auditions from last week ended up in this cloudy process. Apparently I was one of four on the short list of those being considered. What’s even stranger is that my buddy Vik was one of the four. Which makes it the one and only time that we’ll be competing for the same role. I mean, how many roles are there where a 6’2″ black fuzzy-haired former decathlete and a skinny Shakespeare-spouting Canadian-born Indian be perfect fits for??? That’s a head shaker ain’t it?
Last week: Another frustrating, yet promising exercise in ‘oh so close, but no cigar’! I can smell it, but damn am I feeling like throwing my hands up and getting a day job!!
Heh!
Almost had you there!
