And We Have a Booking!

OK so I didn’t get the role that I needed prayers for. The audition was so abysmal that I won’t even bore you with the details. I’ll choke it up to, uhm, well, choking on the grand stage. There you have it. But I wasn’t bummed for very long. I got small market part. Sometimes known as a an industrial. I’ll be playing a witness in a corporate litigation suit. I also auditioned for two other roles. One was for an indie, the other for Texas Tourism… a funny thing happened at that one. They had us singing karaoke when we go in to audition. Someone please tell me what that has to do with Texas. I mean this is Texas, land of the tumbleweeds, Waco, 100ºF temperatures in freakin’ MARCH!, longhorns, wife beaters and 10 gallon hats. Karaoke? No so much. So I am curious to see where that goes.

In the mean time, I have a ton of pages in this mock deposition to read through. Evidence to sift through, notes to read, direction. All the work that great actors do to get ready for a part. I know, I know, it’s just an industrial, so I am going to be “prepping” very hard for it – during all three NBA playoff games today. Man I haven’t done this much reading since The Iliad in College.
