This week’s iOTW images are brought to you by Other People’s Kid’s (OPK) and some creative uses of available light sources.
Kids by nature are an endless source of creative inspiration when it comes to photography. Some are naturally prone to be hams in front of the camera. While others tend to run and hide. Sam here, was naturally drawn to the camera, wether she was aware that I was photographing her or not.
ANY LIGHT IS GOOD LIGHT

Case in point. I arrived late in Austin and Sam had passed out on the living room couch. Her brother was asleep on the floor right next to her. Apparently they fell asleep waiting for me… at least that’s what I want to believe. I didn’t want to turn on the lights to capture this bit of childhood innosence, so I had her mom (my bestest friend evah!) grab a pocket flash light. I kicked up the ISO to 1600 and the shutter speed at 1/60th. The result was quite pleasing.

The next morning I caught Sam staring out the window and couldn’t resist snapping this one. Naturally she stayed still, even though she was aware I was framing her. I only know this because of the little smirk of a smile she’s got at the corner of her lips. She was loving the attention. See if you can guess the aperture setting from the shallow depth of field.
