iOTW: Walking in the Clouds

Flying through storm clouds at 30,000 feet...
So last night I added some more carbon to my carbon footprint count that Dopplr is doing a nice job of tracking. We had a flyby of a storm cloud that was busy getting it’s business on with lightning and thunder (I assume since you can’t really hear what’s going on outside the plane). I just happened to look out the window as we were descending into Orlando for a landing. I had to scramble to get my gear and caught a few images of this storm cloud. More images after the jump.

As dramatic as the images are… I actually missed the best angle of the cloud in a scramble to grab my camera from the overhead bin. It was comical scene in business class. I first scrambled to get the camera. Realizing I had the wrong lens on it, I scrambled again to grab the lens, strapped it on and fired away about 10 shots before realizing I actually didn’t have a memory card loaded. You would have thought the storm outside had turned into cursing storm in the first class cabin as I scrambled yet again to search for my memory cards.

So there you have it, the trouble I go to to bring the best images for iOTW. Enjoy.
And of course I’ve got some iPhonography self-portraits from this flight as well. What, you thought I’d forget? I’ll have to post those a bit later.

These images are remarkable. May I purchase a high rez 8×10 print of the first two ?? Visit my website and you’ll know why. Thanks for the inspiration. Renee
