Back when I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do when I grew up, I was working at a design temp at Sally Corporation headquarters, churning out sales catalogs ad nauseam. My partner on several occasion was the young lady you see above. We’d grumble through several editions of the Beauty Systems Group Educational catalogs, intermixed with odd “hot” projects that needed to get done, like “right now.”
It was during those short cubicle habitation years that I bought my first “real” DSLR, the Canon 20D. I had waited long and hard for Minolta to get their butt in gear after their dismal, but capable Dimage 7hi entry into the nascent digital photography arena. I’ve since migrated through to the 30D, 40D, several lens combinations, and now proudly call my 5D, the beast of burden. It’s tried and true. No matter what piece of glass I strap to it, it keep on amazing me.
All this to say that, I loosely kept in touch with Teresa over the years until she emailed me out of the blue several months ago to request my availability for a date nearly 9 months in the future! I knew immediately why, and I was perturbed to say the least because I didn’t even get so much as a phone call regarding the big news. Hmrrgff! Long story shot, I made sure my travel schedule didn’t cause me to miss her wedding. And as a result, I bring you this week’s image of the week.
I strapped a Cannon 24-104mm f4 IS to my 5D, and set this on a tripod. It was one of those unplanned locations that jumped at me as we were about to walk outside for her bridal portrait. Hope you like it.
