The summit will address three areas: Youth Employment, Education, Millennial Communications – the use of social media and technology for development. Before the summit, a Development Case Study Competition aims to provide youth with the opportunity to propose innovative solutions and business products for real development issues that the WBG and external partners are striving to solve.
The summit is set to focus on three key areas: Youth Employment, Education, and Millennial Communications. That last part – Millennial Communications, i.e., the use of social media is a significant topic for the World Bank to be focusing on. Social media and millennials are virtually inseparable as a medium for development, especially for emerging regions with population demographics that skew heavily towards youth.
Also, I wonder if Millennial Communications will catch on as an area of significant focus for development practitioners. Thoughts?
