Women and Innovative Entrepreneurship in Uganda

Appearances Economy

I’ll be speaking at a panel about Women and Innovative Entrepreneurship in Uganda at Georgetown tomorrow. Join us for the screening of the short film, “Barefoot in Business,” which follows the fortunes of three Ugandan business women as they defy statistics, stereotypes and credit restrictions, and go head to head for the 2012 Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

I haven’t actually seen the film myself so this is going to be an interesting treat.

Speakers:

  • Ambassador Dickson Ogwang, Minister Counselor at the Embassy of Uganda
  • Benedicta Nanyonga, Founder & Executive Director of Kinawataka Women Initiatives based in Kampala, Uganda
  • Teddy Ruge, Co-founder of Hive Colab, Uganda’s first technology incubator and co- working space
